Richard W. Henneforth, Sr., 92, formerly of Hawley, died peacefully at his daughter's home in Tafton surrounded by family on Oct. 10, 2012.
He was born on January 30, 1920 in Saco, PA. The son of the late John Lewis Henneofrth and Fraliene Black of Maplewood, he was receded in death by his wife Elizabeth (Betty) Jane Kaub Henneforth, a brother Leigh Henneforth and a daughter Constance Henneforth.
Surviving is a brother, Howard Henneforth of Smyrna, NY; a daughter Catherine and husband Ronald Tuttle of Tafton; a son, John Henneforth, Sr. and wife Laurie of Lords Valley; a daughter Nancy and husband Doug Pederson of Trevett, Maine and a son, Richard W. Henneforth, Jr. of Hawley; a granddaughter Jennifer and her husband Marc Fenkner of Greentown.
Also surviving are two grandsons: John Henneforth, Jr. of Honesdale, Christopher Henneforth of Madison, WI; three great-grandchildren: Kyle Henneforth of Scranton, Cody Tuttle and Aaron Renkner of Greentown.
Richard was a member of the Queen of Peace Church, Hawley. He was loved by all whom he came to know.
He will be sorely missed by his family especially. Richard was a World War II
veteran. He retired after working many years at the age of 76 from the Wallenpaupack Area School District from janitorial work.
His true love was birds, along with gardening and anything to do with the outdoors.
A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at the convenience of the family.
Private cremation took place at Auer Crematory in King of Prussia. Burial with his beloved wife will be at St. Katherine's in Moscow.
