On January 20, 2013, Anton Matesi, IV peacefully passed away at home in the care of his parents Anton Matesi, III and Sharon Russell Matesi.
Anton was a graduate of Saint Vincent Catholic School in Honesdale and of Penn State University.
During his time at Penn State, he was a member of the Penn State Glee Club and a past president of Delta Phi.
He was a recipient of the American Legion award for Leadership and the Father Frank award.
During his life, Anton actively supported spinal cord injury networks, and was referred to as the "Courageous Warrior" by those traveling the same path.
Anton is survived by his sisters Ann Matesi and her husband Gary Czapski, Christine L. Ives and her husband John F. Ives and nephew Frederick Ives.
A Memorial Mass will be said on Saturday, 1 p.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.
Internment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Honesdale, PA at a later date.
