Clifford F. Bea, age 85, of Milestone Estates, Hawley, died Monday, June 10, 2013, at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale. He is survived by his wife, the former Audrey E. Gibbons. They had been married since 1952.|
Born September 26, 1927, in Hawley, PA, he was the son of the late Fred and Ethel (O'Hara) Bea. He was a graduate of Penn State University with a degree in Aeronautical Engineering and served in the Air Force during World War II .
Formerly of Media, PA and Alden, NY, he was founder and vice president of Advanced Thermal Systems in Lancaster, NY, from which he retired in 1986. He was also a member of International District Heating Associates.
He was a member of BVM Queen of Peace RC Church and the Hawley Council of the Knights of Columbus. He was also an avid golfer, a member of Riverdale Rod and Gun Club, Wilson-Kelch Post 311 of the American Legion and the VFW in Sebring, FL.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter and son-in-law: Ramona and Paul Schwartz of Hawley; a son and daughter-in-law: Jeffrey and Cindy Bea of Alden, NY; one sister: Lorraine Dean of Alexander, NY; grandchildren: John, Tom and Stephen Schwartz, and Chad and Kristen Bea; great grandchildren: Justin, Jacob, Audrey, Bailey Rose, Alexandra, Sean, Ryan and John.
He was predeceased by a sister, Coleta Yunck, two brothers, Marlin and Cecil, and a grandson, Cory Bea.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, June 12, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St, Hawley, PA. The funeral will be Thursday, June 13, at 10 a.m. at BVM Queen Of Peace Roman Catholic Church, 314 Chestnut Ave, Hawley. Burial will be in B.V.M. Queen Of Peace Cemetery, Hawley, following the service.
