Anthony E. Nocera, 92, formerly of Belleville, NJ, died at Honesdale, PA on April 14, 2013.|
He was born in Elizabeth, NJ on December 7, 1921. He served in World War II and was discharged. He was a life member of the Knights of Columbus, 835 in Belleville. An avid Yankees fan, Tony enjoyed meeting with other baseball aficionados at the Honesdale senior center for many years.
He was preceded in death by his wife Gloria, nee Siciliano in 1996. The couple married in 1950.
He is survived by his son Edward and daughter-in-law Anne, with whom he lived and who cared for him the last seventeen year of his life, in their home in Milanville, PA.
He leaves another son, Anthony, daughter-in-law Theresa, and granddaughter Erica and his sister Ceil Dappalonia of Orlando, FL. Tony is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, as well as three step grandchildren, and their spouses; and six step great grandchildren, in whom he delighted and who will greatly miss their beloved "Grandpa Tony."
The family will receive friends at the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home (www.swbrownandson.com), 267 Centre St. Nutley, NJ from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday.
A Mass of Christian Burial is being offered at Holy Family Church, 28 Brookline Ave. Nutley, NJ on Thursday at 10:30 am.
Interment will be at Glendale Cemetery in Bloomfield, NJ.
