Kevin Thomas Mulligan, 45, of Honesdale died on Saturday, February 9, 2013.|
Born on October 22, 1967 in NYC, New York, he was the son of John Patrick Mulligan of Southberry, CT and the late Joan Mary Ventura Conway. He was also preceded in death by his step-father Charles Conway. Kevin moved to Beach Lake at the age of 5.
He graduated from Honesdale High School in 1985 where he was a star wrestler, setting and breaking multiple school records.
He was the owner and operator of Mulligan Mechanical Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning. Kevin was a hardworking and kind person, always willing to help others whenever he could.
He has one brother, John D. Mulligan and wife, Laurie Mulligan of Honesdale. Along with two sisters: MaryEllen (Mulligan) LaPoint and husband, Richard LaPoint of Honesdale and Jean (Mulligan) Ozga of McKeesport, PA. He thought of and loved Justin Mulligan as a son. He also had longtime girlfriend, Sharon Lippert. He has one nephew and five nieces, Sean Mulligan of Oyster Bay, NY, Kimberly Mulligan of Kilmarnock, VA, Jacqueline Mulligan of Honesdale, PA, Kelley LaPoint of Dumfries, VA, Shannon LaPoint of Honesdale, PA, and Kristin Ozga of Fernway PA. Several aunts and uncles Thomas and Geraldine Ventura of Aberdeen, NJ, Bernadette Conway of Beach Lake, PA, Vincent Conway of Flushing, NY, Gary and Eileen Monahan of Long Beach, CA, Patricia Ruggiero of Seal Beach, CA, and Mary Turecky of Jacksonville, FL.
He loved his cousins very much and loved to spend time with every one of them. He had a special place in his heart for his cousins Danny and Steven.
He was also preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Daniel and Rose Mulligan and maternal grandparents, Thomas and Mary Ventura.
Cremation was held at Maple Hill at Salem Crematory. Friends may visit Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale on Friday, Feb. 15 from 4 to 7. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at St. John the Evangelist Church, Honesdale at 10 a.m.
