1927 - 2013 Obituary Condolences
Lawrence V. Freiermuth, 85, of Milanville, died Friday evening, January 11, 2013 in the Ellen Memorial Health Care Center, Honesdale, after an illness.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, the former Jean Griffin on September 15, 2011.

Born on December 28, 1927 in Milanville, he was the son of the late Leartis and Jeanette Conklin Freiermuth.
Lawrence was born and raised on the family farm.

Following school, he worked for Avery's, driving truck and school bus.

Lawrence was an industrious man who also worked as a logger in his youth.

For nearly 30 years, he was a truck driver for Elton Varcoe Trucking.

After his time there, Lawrence reestablished the family dairy business at his home farm which he operated with his wife and family.

He loved fishing and hunting; he was a founding member of the Boyd's Mills hunting club.

Lawrence loved horses and the rural farm life; he especially loved his dog.

He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Lawrence will be greatly missed.

He is survived by a son: Gary Freiermuth and his wife Susan; a daughter, Kelly White and her husband John, all of Boyd's Mills; three grandchildren: Tracie Gelatt and her husband Eric of Beach Lake, Troy Freiermuth, and Amanda White, both of Boyd's Mills; two great-grandchildren: Cody and Evan Gelatt of Beach Lake; two sister-in-laws: Betty Freiermuth of Honesdale, and Faye Erhardt of Tyler Hill; several nieces and nephews; and his dog, Max.

He was also preceded in death by a sister: Rose Avery, and five brothers: Robert, Charles, Howard, Maynard, and Carl Freiermuth.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013 at 8 P.M. at the Arthur A. Bryant Funeral Home 1228 North Main Street, Honesdale, PA 18431 with Rev. Mary Bryant officiating.

Friends may visit at the funeral home from 7 P.M. until the time of service.

Memorial Contributions may be made in Lawrence's memory to the Damascus Township Volunteer Ambulance Corps, PO Box 63, Damascus, PA 18415.

Interment will be in the in the Calkins Cemetery.
