Leonard M. Piercy Obituary
Leonard M. Piercy, 84, of Simpson died Tuesday at Commonwealth Hospice of NEPA, Scranton. His wife, the former Elizabeth Jezercak died in 2005.

Born in Honesdale, he was the son of the late Lorenzo F. & Florence Klenck Piercy. He served in the Army National Guard. He retired from Cross Engineering Co, Carbondale. He was a member of St. Michael's Church/ St Rose Parish and the Tri-County Sportsmen's Club, Simpson. He was a former member of the Huff Pond Fishing Club. Leonard was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed making his own wine and spending time with his pet companion Princess.

The family would like to thank Devita Center, Childs and Hospice of the Sacred Heart, especially Melissa and Lisa for the love and compassion that was given to Leonard.

He is survived by three sons and their wives, Michael & Marie, Olyphant, who were his caregivers; Richard & Ellen, Simpson and William & Deborah, Waymart. A brother, George Piercy and wife Nancy, Seelyville; two sisters, Arlene Seig, Seelyville and Mary & Bill Schutt, Jefferson Township; asister in law, Lillian Piercy, Seelyville; eight grandchildren, Michael, Mark, Alicia, Amanda, Jamie, Casey, Richard Jr and Jenifer; two great grandchildren Nathan Grover & Maria Serge, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Frank and two grandsons, Wesley Tolley and Richard Roger Piercy.

The funeral will be Friday from the Joseph W Scotchlas Funeral Home, Inc. 621 Main St., Simpson with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Michael's Church, 46 Midland St., Simpson. Interment with military honors in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Simpson.
