Mabel Louise (Crum) Bryant Obituary
Mabel Louise (Crum) Bryant, 87 years of age, died peacefully on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at Ellen Memorial Health Care Center in Honesdale, PA after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's Disease and cancer.

A resident of Wayne County for nearly 40 years, she was born on December 22, 1925 in Apshawa, NJ and attended Butler High School in Butler, NJ. She was the proud daughter of the late Edward and Lillian (Broadfoot) Crum of Milanville, PA.

Mabel was a hard worker who held various jobs in factories as well as the retail and service industries throughout the years to support her family. She retired from The Wayne Independent in 1993 where she was the daytime Mailroom Supervisor.

She was a founding member of the VFW Post 531 Ladies Auxiliary and of the Protestant faith.

A beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister, Aunt & Cousin she was a wonderful cook who enjoyed music, dancing, crocheting, playing games, bingo and crossword puzzles. Those who knew her best will forever remember her laughter, her strength, her kind heart and the pride that she took in her home, her appearance and her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband(s): Edward S. Gray, Anton H. Poehner and Lyndon E. Bryant, as well as her sisters: Beulah "Bea" O'Brien, Ethel Russo, Hilda "Betty" Wanklin and Audrey Boge.
She is survived by seven children: Robert E. (Gray) of Aynor, SC, David H. (Gray) and his wife Kathy of Belleview, FL, Edward J. (Gray) and his wife Victoria of Gerardstown, WVA, Ronald L. (Gray) and his wife Paula of Elizabeth City, NC, Priscilla L. (Klein) and her husband Ray of Kingston, PA, Gerald R. "Jerry" (Gray) and his wife MaryEllen of Marathon, NY and Michelle R. (Poehner-Hessling) and her fiance Jim (Fleece) of Equinunk, PA.

Also surviving are a brother David Crum and his wife Betty of Port Jervis, NY, a sister in law Phyllis Newport of Lookout, PA, a special niece Deborah Wanklin of Honesdale, PA, 21 grandchildren, more than 30 great grandchildren, 5 stepchildren, several step-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews and their families.

Calling hours will be on Friday, April 5, 2013 from 3-7 p.m. and on Saturday, April 6, 2013 from 10 a.m.-11 a.m. at Hessling Funeral Home, 428 Main Street, Honesdale, PA.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m.on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Hessling Funeral Home with the Reverend Rob Kazinski officiating. Burial will be at the Hillside Cemetery in Damascus, PA.
