Mavis Opal Wood Obituary
Mavis Opal Wood, Honesdale, died Friday morning at the Julia Ribaudo Extended Care Center after an illness.

She was born in Lookout, Wayne County, daughter of the late Frederick and Anna L. Wilcox Hartz.
Mavis was the proud Peer President at the Julia Ribaudo Extended Care
Center.
Prior to retirement she had been employed as a seamstress in the garment industry.

Survivng are daughters Linda Mae Eldred of Honesdale, Sally Anne Chumard and husband Darrell of Hamlin, Rose Marie Curtis of Honesdale; grandchildren David Peck, Mt Cobb, Sara Polt, Tyler Hill, Sherri Peck, Honesdale, Mellissa Kerrigan, Clarks Summit, Francis Roche, Salisbury Center, NY., Michael Buck, Hamlin, Lisa Curtis, Lakeville, Teresa Davis, Hamlin, and Robert Curtis, Hamlin; fifteen great grandchildren; one great great grandson; one niece; 2 nephews; one great niece.

Preceded in death by two brothers Paul and Charles Hartz; a grandson Billy Wood.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 6 at 10 a.m. in the James Wilson Funeral Home 143 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel.
Friends may call Saturday morning from 9 a.m. until time of service in the funeral home.
Interment of ashes will take place in Lookout Cemetery, Wayne County.

Cremation took place in the Lake Region Crematory at the James Wilson Funeral Home.
