Sherman Robert Ehrich, of Ellenville, a retired salesman for Ellenville Lumber Company for over 50 years went to live with the Lord to make a place for us on Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012 in Ellenville. He was 89.

Son of the late Thomas and Martha Ferro Ehrich, he was born March 8, 1923 in East Stroudsburg, PA. He was married to Betty Anderson Ehrich. Sherman's father had passed away at age 35, so he went to live with Carmen and Julia Kellam.
Sherman graduated from the Damascus High School in 1940, and served in the U.S. Navy on a Liberty Ship during World War II.

He was a member of the Ellenville United Methodist Church.
Mr. Ehrich is survived by his most devoted wife, Betty Anderson Ehrich at home; stepchildren: Brenda and Steve Kimball, Lana and Tom Gwyn, Robin and Kevin Martin, Betty and James Garneau, Lori and Daniel Murphy, Dawn and Larry Haynes, Jonathon and Kim Ray, Bob and Joanne Callahan; a brother-in-law, Lew Decker; loving grandchildren and great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, and two special friends, Alice Foster and Irwin Rosenthal.

A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 31, 2012 at Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home, 34 Upper Main Street, Callicoon, NY 12723. burial was in the Callicoon Cemetery.
