Thomas James Mortsea, 72 of Honesdale, died on Thursday, December 20, 2012 at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale|
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Carol Wheeler.
Born on February 4, 1940 in Carteret, NJ, he was the son of the late Stephen and Bertha Bowler Mortsea.
He was a US Army veteran and was a member of the Honesdale American Legion Post 254.
For 30 years, Tom worked at Shell Oil in Sewarren, NJ.
Following his retirement he moved to Honesdale.
He was a member of the Honesdale Lodge No. 218 of the Free and Accepted Masons.
He is survived by his sister-in-law Jean Mortsea of Cuba Lake, NY; a nephew Theodore Mortsea of Lebanon, NJ; nieces Mary Morris of Cuba Lake, NY and Lennae Griffin of Santa Cruz, CA. He was preceded in death by his brother Theodore Mortsea, Sr.
Friends may visit Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale on Sunday, December 23rd from 12 to 2.
A Masonic service will be held at 2 o'clock.
Private interment will be in Clover Leaf Park Cemetery, Woodbridge, NJ at the convenience of his family.
