John F. Vendetti, 48, Honesdale, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on June 24, 2014. John was born in Bristol, Pennsylvania on June 1, 1966 to Marian and Vincent Vendetti (deceased). All were long time residents of Levittown,|
Pennsylvania, until John moved to Honesdale to own and operate a local family campground. His mother Marian was not too far behind.
He was a graduate of the Bishop Egan High School, class of 1984 located in Fairless Hills, Pennsylvania.
He acquired an associates degree in Computer Programming from Pennco Tech which led him into the blossoming IT industry.
John married his high school sweetheart, Francene Raccagno, and together they had 2 children, Vincent, 17 and Tessa, 13.
His education led him onto a successful career in Computer Sciences at SPS Technologies, Willow Grove, PA and Sungard Data Center, Philadelphia, PA.
His constant love for the outdoors inspired him to leave a successful career and purchase Ponderosa Pines Family Campground, Honesdale, Pennsylvania.
John always had simple wishes; he never wanted to go on a large trip or vacation. He only asked that he could have time to tinker with machinery. He was an intelligent, loving, and generous person who never failed to offer advice to those who needed it. John is survived by his wife, Francene, his children, Vincent and Tessa, his mother, Marian Vendetti, his siblings, Joan Matarrazzo, Thomas Vendetti, Jean Rosso, Andrew Vendetti, Maggie DeRiggi, Maria Rosso; his sister in law, Yvonne Brandau, and was predeceased by his father, Vincent Vendetti.

The following is a statement made by John's children regarding their relationship with their father.
Tessa, said, "My dad is my best friend in the entire world, and nothing will ever change that. I could come to him with any problem, and he would give me the exact advice I needed, and also suggest a song to wash my anxieties away. I do not
regret any of the times I blew off my friends to spend an afternoon watching classic rock concerts with my dad. He is the most compassionate and ingenious man I will ever know. As glad as I am that my father is free from his disease, I am
disappointed that he will not get to see me grow up, and be successful."
Vincent, said, "My dad is the strongest man I've ever known and my inspiration. I
wish I had more time to show him how I have grown up and succeeded in my life. He
always had the answers for me and he was always there to guide me. So to all
fathers and families, go kiss your dad and to all dads go kiss your wife and children because you never know when something could end it all."
Private cremation services will be held at the convenience of his family.
Arrangements by Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale.
