Patrick K. Leonard, 57 of Pleasant Mount died on Saturday, November 3, 2012 after a brief illness. He is survived by his wife, the former Linda Heidenrich. The couple recently married on August 23, 2012.

Born in Scranton, son of Julia Farrell Leonard of Pleasant Mount and the late Thomas A. Leonard who died on December 12, 1984. Patrick was a graduate of Forest City High School.

Before retirement, Patrick was employed as a correctional officer at the State Correctional Facility, Waymart for 30 years. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and gardening. He farmed and raised beef cattle with his brother, Thomas. He was well liked by all who knew him.

Pat was a member was a member of AFSCME Union, various hunting clubs and snowmobile clubs.

Also surviving is his daughter Kristine Leonard of Jermyn; his brother Thomas Leonard of Pleasant Mount; sisters Mary Leonard of Pleasant Mount, Peggy Kuhar and husband Joe of Dickson City; a friend Kathy Cantarella of New Jersey, the mother of Kristine Leonard.

Also aunts, uncles and many cousins. He was looking forward to the birth of his grandson later this month.

The family would like to express its heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Patrick McAndrew, the employees of the Forest City Skilled Nursing Facility and especially, Traditional Hospice Care.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, Nov. 8th at St. Juliana's Church, Rock Lake at 11 AM by Reverend Patrick Albert, Pastor. Interment will follow in St. Juliana's Cemetery.

Friends may visit Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale on Wednesday from 4 to 8.
