Edward Pfaeffle, 80, of Lake Ariel, PA, passed away unexpectedly at Wayne Memorial Hospital.|
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Maloney Pfaeffle of 55 years.
He was born in Brooklyn, New York on October 11, 1932.
He was a graduate of St. John's University, where he was a star baseball player, and a New York City Firefighter at Engine 255 for 20 years.
At 80, he still ran his own income tax preparation business and worked part-time at Wilderman Marcus and Associates CPA firm in New York City.
Ed lived with his wife in The Hideout of Lake Ariel; a community which he loved and felt blessed to belong to.
He was truly the most wonderful man and a friend to everyone.
This sudden loss has left a giant hole in the hearts of so many, especially his family.
The greatest accomplishment of Ed's life was raising his four children with Kathy, the love of his life.
Surviving with his wife are his four children; Edward and his wife Liza, Lake Ariel, PA; Jeannine Pfaeffle Barnett, Lake Ariel, PA; Mark and his wife Laura, Stroudsburg, PA; and Kathleen Pfaeffle Doslak and her husband Bill, Granger, IN.
"Grandpa" or "Pop Pop" was loved tremendously by his 13 grandchildren: Eddie, Thomas, Claire, Gregory, Robert, Keith, Caroline, Kyle, Mark, Katie, Maggie, Billy and Brian.
Visitation will be from 5 - 8 p.m. on Saturday, December 8th and 2 - 6 p.m. Sunday, December 9th at James Wilson's Funeral Home, 143 Gravity Road, Lake Ariel, 18436, 570-698-5811 (www.jameswilsonfuneralhome.com).
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, December 10th at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 105 Gravity Road, Lake Ariel, PA 18436.
