Howard L. Clist of Sanatoga, formerly of Honesdale and Corning, New York, died Dec. 11, 2012 at his home. |
Mr. Clist was born on March 14, 1935 in Queens, New York, a son of the late Lawrence and Marian (Skinner) Clist. He was 77 years of age.
Mr. Clist owned and operated the Checkered Cab Company when he lived in Florida.
During his time in New York, he was a member of the Long Island Aquanauts Skin-divers. He was a member and volunteer at the Senior Center in Honesdale and, later, at the Senior Center in Pottstown. He had served on the Advisory Board for the Disabled in Honesdale.
Mr. Clist was a great conversationalist and always enjoyed a good cigar. He loved to fish ad was an avid Scrabble plater. He was an artist and loved playing poker and gin rummy.
Mr. Clist was the husband of the late Natalie Clist and is survived by his wife of 18 years, Rosemary (Savino) Clist. He was the father of Stephanie Rosenberg (Derek) of Collegeville, and the step-father of Emily Savino and her husband, Scott Pensyl of Austin, Texas. He was the brother of the late Barbara Wronkowski and Paul Mumford (Deborah) of Bellport, New York, and the step-brother of Richard Mumford of New Jersey.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service on Saturday, Dec. 15, 11:30 a.m. at the Ruggiero Funeral Home, 224 W. Main St., Trappe. Officiating will be Father Bernard Maguire. There will be a visitation with the family from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
