Stephen "Steve" Kocsis Jr. Obituary
Stephen "Steve" Kocsis, Jr., 67, of Beach Lake, died on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Regional Hospital of Scranton.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, the former Joyce C. Clarke.

Born on February 19, 1945 in Staten Island, NY, he was the son of the late Stephen and Helen Martin Kocsis. He was a graduate of Tottenville High School.

For 15 years he worked for the State of New York as a Supervisor.

In 1981 he moved to Pennsylvania from Staten Island and worked at Wayne Memorial Hospital as a Maintenance Supervisor and Director of Housekeeping until retiring in 1995.

Steve was an inspiration to all who knew him.

Despite lifetime challenges with visual problems, he remained positive and never let it limit him. He was an exceptional husband, loving brother, and loyal friend. He always led by example.

Before he lost his vision, Steve was a hands-on person, enjoying gardening and woodworking.
He especially loved his dog Marty.

Also surviving are his sisters Patricia Giglio and husband Frank of Sayreville, NJ and Janet Stevenson and husband Paul of Colorado Springs, CO; brothers Dick Kocsis and wife Marcy of Lincroft, NJ, Dennis Kocsis and wife Sue of Staten Island, NY and Thomas Kocsis of Staten Island, NY; mother and father-in-law Jack and Marion Clarke of Toms River, NJ; brother-in-law John Clarke of Staten Island, NY, sister-in-law Jacquelyn Gale of Netcong, NJ; nephews David and Edward Gale of Millburn, NJ and a niece Rachel Clarke of Allentown, PA.

Steve's family would like to thank Drs. William Dewar, Phillip Liu, and David Reynolds for their outstanding care.

A special thanks to Judy Lamberton and Eric, Joan, and Gary Johannes for their support and devotion during Steve's illness.

To help others with sight related problems, Steve gave the ultimate gift by donating his corneas to the NEPA Lions Eye Bank.
Donations in his memory can be made to: NEPA Lions Eye Bank, 2346 Jacksonville Rd. Bethlehem, PA 18017, Attn: Reverend Karl Jones.
As per his request, cremation was held and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
