“For thou hast delivered my soul from death, yea, my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of life.” Psalm 56:13 Damon Lynn Messina, 42, a native and resident of Baton Rouge, LA, born July 9, 1969, passed away on Thursday, March 8, 2012 in Denver, CO. A heavy equipment operator, Damon will be missed dearly by all those that knew him. He is survived by his beautiful children, Grace Elizabeth Messina and Zachary Chase Fryery; parents, Salvador Anthony “Sonny” and Karen Messina and Anna Messina McVea; brother and sister-in-law, Jeffrey and Cindy Messina; sister and brother-in-law, Sunny and Darren King. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Anthony and Pauline Messina; maternal grandparents, Vince and Sena Ciaccio; and step father, Thomas Scott McVea. His children were the love of his life. His passions included motocross, cooking, spending time with family and making the most out of friendships. He was a graduate of Broadmoor High School and attended Southeastern University. He was a member of Theta Xi Fraternity and Operating Engineers Local Union 37. Service will be held Thursday, March 22, 2012 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 11441 Goodwood Blvd, Baton Rouge, LA. A memorial visitation will begin at 10 a.m., followed by a Mass of a Christian Burial at 11 a.m., celebrated by Rev. Thomas Duhe. Look today beyond the clouds and you will find some rays of sunshine!
