A native of Arabi, La. and resident of Gonzales, she died Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at her home. She was 90. Her story had many ups and few downs starting from Arabi, Louisiana October 17, 1922 then working at Jackson Barracks in New Orleans during WWII and on to raising a family. She was a lover and defender of animals of all kinds, an avid protester of animal cruelty in all forms. Survivors include her daughters, Cynthia Cambell and Charmaine Baham; 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Preceded in death by her husband, Henry Baham, her mother Marietta Pereira and her father Jules Estopinal. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to any animal advocate charity in her name.
