Rev. Percy M. LeBlanc (1948 - 2018)


Rev. Percy M. LeBlanc was born on September 6, 1948 and passed away on February 2, 2018 at the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Home in Reserve, La. He was a native of Darrow, La. Rev. Percy LeBlanc graduated from Cypress Grove High School in Lutcher, La. He started his college studies at Southern University, during this time, he was drafted in to the U.S. Army and assigned to an Infantry Unit in Munich, Germany. After serving his two years enlistment, he returned to Southern University where he attained his Bachelor's Degree in Philosophy. He then continued his studies at Virginia Union University, where he attained his Master's Degree in Theology. While studying at Virginia Union University, Rev. LeBlanc pastored a church in Richmond, Va. He then retuned to the U.S. Army as a Chaplain with stations in Germany, Fort Bliss, Texas and Fort Riley, Kan. He leaves to cherish his memories, seven children, two sisters, three brothers, seven grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. James H. LeBlanc, Sr. and Sophia Priestly LeBlanc, four sisters, and two brothers. Services will be held at Lawson-Rollins Purple Shield Funeral Home, 511, W. Tobey Ave., Gonzales, on Friday, February 9, 2018 at 10 a.m. Arrangements entrusted to Lawson-Rollins Purple Shield Funeral Home.
