WEST LIBERTY - Miriam L. Headings, age 94, of West Liberty, passed away at 9:20 a.m. on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at Green Hills Care Center, West Liberty. She was born in Logan County, Ohio on July 8, 1923 to the late Hamer Vernon and Leah Catherine (Yoder) Hostetler. On December 6, 1943, she married Howard J. Headings and he preceded her in death February 3, 1988. Miriam was also preceded in death by a son, Ronald J. Headings; daughter, Christine Headings Wenger; grandson, Todd Leslie Wagler; sister, Helen Yoder; brother, Max Hostetler; and daughter-in-law, Linda Headings.
She is survived by her children, Philip Headings of West Liberty, Marilyn (Larry) Kennel of Mount Joy, Pennsylvania, Cathryn (Howard) Wagler of Hutchinson, Kansas, William (Margie) Headings of Goshen, Indiana, Sharon (Steve) Werner of Belleville, Pennsylvania, and David (Susan) Headings of Kenton; 26 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; brother, Kenneth (Jeanette) Hostetler of Bellefontaine; daughter-in-law, Jill Headings of Lake Ariel, Pennsylvania; son-in-law, Harold Wenger of Tucson, Arizona; many nieces and nephews; and numerous close friends and neighbors.
Miriam was a graduate of Bellefontaine High School. She was a member of the Oak Grove Mennonite Church in West Liberty and various Christian women's groups. Her church and family were very important to her. All who loved her will miss her.
Pastors Dick Barrett, Alex Dye, and Howard Wagler will officiate a Celebration of Life service at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at the Oak Grove Mennonite Church, 1525 Mennonite Church Road, West Liberty. Visitation will be Monday, July 24, 2017 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the EICHHOLTZ DARING & SANFORD FUNERAL HOME, 101 Zanesfield Road, West Liberty. A burial with close friends and family will take place in Oak Grove Mennonite Church Cemetery on Tuesday, July 25 at 9:30 a.m.
