AnnaBelle Wilson


URBANA – AnnaBelle Cooper Wilson, 76, of Urbana, went to her eternal home late Tuesday night, March 3, 2015, surrounded by her family.

She was born in Champaign County, Ohio, on Sept. 4, 1938. She was the last member of her family to be reunited with her parents, Charles Emerson and Mamie Josephine Long McCain. Preceding her were her brothers, William, Donald, John and Charles Jr. (Sonny) and sisters, Mary Pinkerman and Lois Lockwood.

AnnaBelle was employed by Drackett, S.C. Johnson and Mercy Memorial Hospital of Urbana. She was one of the first employees hired by Drackett and retired from S.C. Johnson who she was loyal to always. She was an Urbana High School alumna.

She was an avid bowler for many years, winning numerous trophies and awards. She loved boating and enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren to the moon and back.

AnnaBelle leaves behind to mourn her loss, daughters Susan Tackett of Urbana, Terri (Mike) George of Bellefontaine and LeeAnn (Josh) Stryker of Urbana; grandchildren Katie, Dawn, Mikka, Brooke, Ashley, Jacob and Beefie; nine great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; sister-in-law Mattie McCain of Springfield; and brother-in-law Leon Pinkerman of Florida.

She was also preceded in death by her great-granddaughter Alexis Marie Tackett.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of AnnaBelle to Mercy Memorial Hospital, 904 Scioto St., Urbana, OH 43078.

Family will gather with friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Friday, March 6, 2015, in WALTER & SMITH FUNERAL HOME, Urbana, where a service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2015, with Pastor Don Bender officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Dale Cemetery, Urbana.
