Billie Waller

LAKEVIEW - Billie Louis Waller, 82, of Lakeview, OH passed away Monday morning, August 17, 2015 at his home.

Bill was born on March 10, 1933 in Huntington, WV to the late George P. and Irene Frazier Waller. He married the former Dolores Marcum in 1953 and she preceded him in death in 1971. On August 22, 1971, he married Rubie Capper and she preceded him in death in 2002. He is also preceded in death by five siblings, Jim, Paul, Tom, and Vernon Waller and Wanda Jo Peters.

He is survived by six children, William M. (Ruby) Waller of Dayton, Patrick C. (Annie) Waller of Fredericksburg, VA, Catherine T. (Wayne) Christian of Willow Wood, OH, Delores R. Waller of Dallas, TX, Christopher L. (Robyne) Waller of Lakeview, and Tammy K. (Joe) Capper-Patrick of Vandalia, OH, two stepchildren, Roger D. Skaggs of Springfield, OH, and Carolyn S. (David) Reynolds of Chesapeake, OH, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren including, Starla Cates, Roger Skaggs, Jr., Gerri Lynn Dyer, Shane Michael Rice, Seth Christopher Rice, Caleb Johnston, and Joshua Johnston, a sister, Jean Waller of Kettering, OH, and a brother, Micky Waller of Kettering.

He worked at Burnadale Gardens for 36 years before retiring. He also was a self-employed contractor. Bill was a Korean veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of Doyle R. Miller Amvets Post #39 and Indian Lake Eagles Aeries #3615, both of Lakeview, and Frank D. Castle VFW Post #1080 in Bellefontaine, OH. Bill enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, shooting pool, teaching his grandchildren how to work on cars and "drinking and club hopping."

Funeral services will begin at 12:30 pm, Thursday, August 20, 2015 at Shoffstall Funeral Home, 205 S. Main St., Lakeview with visitation from 10:30-12:30. Burial is in Forest Hills Cemetery, Tipp City, OH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dayton Children's Hospital, Attn: Development Office, One Children's Plaza, Dayton, OH 45404-1815.
