Jerry Lawrence

LAKEVIEW - Jerry "Jake" "Mongoose" Lawrence, 74 years young, of Lakeview, OH, was called to the heavens above on December 24, 2015.

Jerry was born on October 1, 1941, in Hardin County, OH to the late Dell Lawrence and Pauline Gunn Ellis. He was also preceded in death by eight siblings, Nona Hawk, Robert Lawrence, Virginia White, Elaine Lambert, Marilyn Spradling, Dave Lawrence, Stephen Lawrence, and a grandson, Casey Lawrence.

In 2002, he married Patricia Henry and she survives along with 4 children, Jerry "Tuffy" Lawrence, of Coweta, OK, Everlyn "Evie" Lawrence-Chisholm, of Seligman, MO, Helen "Pooky" Lawrence-Phillips, of Manford, OK, Jake Lawrence, of Lakeview, 9 step-children including, Tammy Holt, and Mark McCafferty, both of Lakeview, 18 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren including Sandra Engle, Kaylee Magill, Zachary Lemmings, Caitlyn Engle, Kayleb Hewitt, Emily Engle, Joseph Engle, II, Lynnsey Henry and Laylah Henry, two sisters, Sheila Cavinder, of Russells Point, OH and Dianne Wiese, of Findlay, OH and a brother, Dwight (Carol) Lawrence, of Belmore, OH.

Jerry has done many great things in life. He was a volunteer fire fighter for Lakeview for 10 years and had retired from Honda in 1998. He was also a long time member of the Indian Lake Eagle #3615 in Lakeview. Jerry enjoyed dancing, watching the race on Sundays, going to the casino, spoiling his grandkids and great grandkids, traveling, playing games on the computer, spending time with family and friends, going to the fair and many other things.

He was very funny and loving and liked helping others. There are many kind words to say about Jerry, and lots of great memories to share. He was a loving, supportive husband and the best grandpa and great grandpa anyone could ask for. Now he is our Guardian Angel watching over all of us. He will forever hold a special place in our hearts.

A gathering of remembrance will be from 1-3 pm Thursday, December 31, 2015 at Shoffstall Funeral Home, 205 S. Main St.

Memorial Contributions may be given to his family.
