WEST LIBERTY – Joe Winfred King, 74, of West Liberty, went to be with the Lord on Friday evening at 10:45 p.m., January 2, 2015, at Green Hills Care Center. During these last years, he had accepted God's gracious gift of salvation and was ready to meet his Savior.

He was born in Bellefontaine on July 17, 1940, to the late Winfred and Marie Adeline (Yoder) King. Joe was a graduate of Salem Local High School in 1958. He served in the 101st Airborne Division of the US Army at Ft. Campbell, Kentucky. He spent a tour of duty in Germany as an Army cook. He was involved most all of his life as a stone, brick and block mason. Joe enjoyed making replica stone lighthouses and raising colored birds.

Joe is survived by four sons, Ron King, Nick King, Vincent King and Darrin King, all of Florida; three grandchildren, Cassandra and Kirk King, both of Florida, and Michael Dutton of Ohio; two brothers, Dan King of Tampa, Florida, and Jay (Kathy) King of West Liberty. Joe is also survived by special friends, Stacey and Don Floro, who called him Grandpa. He was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Patty King.

Pastor Matthew Williams of South Union Mennonite Church will officiate a private memorial service at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Green Hills Community Center.
