Marvin Paxton

LAKEVIEW – Marvin Owen Paxton, 73, of Lakeview, OH, passed away Wednesday evening December 24, 2014 at his home.

Marv was born on June 24, 1941 in Richmond, IN to the late Lyle Roma & Lilliemae Skiver Paxton. He was preceded in death by a brother, David Paxton.

On May 5, 1990, he married the former Evelyn Kerns in Zanesfield, OH and she survives. He is also survived by five children, Jeffrey Scott Paxton of Cridersville, OH, Randolph Todd (Marty) Paxton of St. Johns, OH, Brian Andrew (Becky) Paxton of Jackson Center, OH, Donna Carol Pena of Springfield, OH, and Christa Sue (Mike) Myers of Lakeview, two stepchildren, Andrea Dorene Long and Robert Cameron Anderson, both of Lakeview, 26 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, a brother, Malcolm Paxton of Seven Mile, OH, a sister, Connie (Donald) LaVorgna of Saint Leonard, MD and his best friend, Dickie (Anita) Edwards of Wickeliffe, KY.

Marv was a 1959 graduate of Dixon Israel High School in Preble County. He was a member of Russells Point Church of God and formerly of Vineyard Christian Fellowship. He formerly worked at Erb Lumber, owned a home handyman business, and was Park Manager of Holiday Shores Mobile Home Park in Lakeview. He enjoyed to travel. A great passion of his was his mission work and helping others in need. His mission work included working at God's Appalachian Partnership in McDowell, KY for seven years. He also volunteered with Galilean Children's Home in Liberty, KY, Reachout Outreach in New Hampshire, OH, Agape Distribution Center in Sidney, OH, and The Son Center in Lewistown, OH. Also, a part of his mission in life was providing his carpentry skills for others.

Pastors Bill Riley and Chuck Temple will begin funeral services at 5:00 pm, Sunday, December 28, 2014 at Shoffstall Funeral Home, Lakeview, with visitation from 3-5.

In Lieu of Flowers, memorial contributions may be given in his name to God's Appalachian Partnership, 90 Big Bridge RD, McDowell, Kentucky 41647.
