William O. Shroyer


RUSSELLS POINT - William O. Shroyer, 79, of Russells Point, OH passed away Wednesday, November 7, 2017 in his home.

Bill was born on April 1, 1938 in West Mansfield, OH, a son of the late Robert & Dorothy Hudson Shroyer. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Jimmy, Richard and Donald Shroyer, two stepdaughters, Mary Warner and Brenda Yoakam, and three grandchildren, Jack Wade Salyer, Adam Gilliam, and Paula Carothers.

He married Mary Henry Whitt on June 6, 2007 and she survives. He is also survived by his daughter, Rebecca (Garry Johns) Collins of Bellefontaine, OH, four stepchildren, Tony Whitt, Sr. of Russells Point, Terry (Mandy) Whitt of VA, Allie (Tammy) Whitt of ID, and Opal Gilliam of Bellefontaine, seven grandchildren, Cookee (John) Shick, Madison and Andrew Boyer, Tony Whitt, Jr., Gary and Larry Yoakam, and Jim Gilliam, several great grandchildren including Mary Kay Brown, Emma and Jefferie Carothers, and a sister, Norma (Otis) Flinchbaugh of Cincinnati.

Bill was a six-year veteran of the Ohio National Guard prior to serving 12 years in the United States Army. He retired from Superfoods after 32 years. Bill was a member of Doyle R. Miller Amvets Post #39 and Indian Lake Moose Lodge #1533, both of Lakeview. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and working around the house.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Friday, November 10, 2017 at Shoffstall Funeral Home, 205 S. Main St., Lakeview with visitation from 12-2 pm. Burial is in Zanesfield Cemetery with military honors provided by the Logan County Veterans Honor Guard.

Memorial contributions may be given in his name to St. Jude's.
