Roberta G. Frost(1944 - 2018)

DUNDEE - Roberta G. Frost, 73, passed away Monday (Sept. 10, 2018) at home following a brief illness surrounded by family.

Mrs. Frost was born on Oct. 9, 1944 in Wellsville to Robert L. and Grace M. (Smith) Black. She was a 1962 graduate of Scio Central School. On June 20, 1964 at the Church of Christ in Scio, she married Robert E. Frost, who survives.

Roberta worked as a secretary for Air Preheater in Wellsville for over 30 years until her retirement in 2011. She previously worked as a bank teller at First Trust Union Bank in Wellsville.

In addition to her husband of 54 years, Roberta is survived by three daughters, Deborah K. (Bob) Bowers and Michele L. (Tim) Brown, both of Andover and Kimberly J. (Victor) Matacale of Greenwood; one son, Donald J. (Peggy) Frost of Andover; one brother, Robert E. (Joanne) Black of Andover; his Uncle Richard Black of Wellsville; 11 grandchildren, Aimee L. (Bryan) Dodge, Daniel (Brittnay) Bowers, Rebecca Bowers, Craig Billings, Missy (Jake) Reihle, Katie Johnson, Brandon Brown, Kristen Brown, Blake Matacale, Brooke Matacale and Bethany Matacale; eight great-grandchildren, Colin Dodge, Trixie Bowers, Grace Bowers, Corbin Billings, Molly Billings, Abigail Riehle, Zac Johnson and Zoey Johnson; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by a brother David Black; an infant brother, Daniel Black; and an infant sister, Madeline Black.

Roberta enjoyed life on Waneta Lake where she and Bob lived for many years and would often go for a boat ride on the lake. Her children and grandchildren's favorite memories are the two weeks of vacationing every year at the lake. Roberta cherished the time spent with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and the "Lake family."

Roberta also liked to cook and entertain company, be it family or friends. There was always a big family feast at the holidays, with Mom at the controls. As a young girl, Roberta was very active in Girl Scouts and no doubt many of the skills learned there were a great help as she managed the affairs of her family. Oh, and Roberta was a huge fan of the Hallmark Channel and the many reruns everyone had to endure.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m.-noon at Baker-Swan Funeral Home in Andover. The memorial service will be held on Saturday at noon at the funeral home immediately following the visitation with Rev. Calvin Densmore of the First Baptist Church of Andover officiating. Online condolences may be offered at www.baker-swan.com.

Memorial contributions in Roberta's name may be made to the Andover Volunteer Fire Department, PO Box 714, Andover, NY 14806; or to the Andover Rescue Squad, PO Box 726, Andover, NY 14806.
