Joseph Andrew Clouthier 1917 - 2014 . We are saddened to announce the passing of Andrew Clouthier at his home in Port Alberni on January 4, 2014. Andrew was born in Windsor Lake, Sask. on November 16, 1917. He predeceased by his parents Wilfred and Anatalie; sisters Rose, Cecile, and Jeanne; brothers Joseph, Edward, Gabriel, Leo and Gerry. He is survived by his wife of 68 years Jean, son Gerry, daughter Lynn (Willy), and grandchildren Angelina and Kerry. Also survived by sister Terry and brothers Maurice, Raymond and George. Andrew was a career mechanic who enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a Canadian veteran who served in both England and North Africa. While the war in Europe waged on, Dad met, courted, and on March 14, 1945 married the love of his life Jean. After VE Day, Andy was shipped home in October 1945. Jean came in March 1946 on a "War Bride Ship" and met her extensive new family in Saskatchewan. A short time later, they followed other relatives to Port Alberni, where Andy was employed as a mechanic. They bought a two room shack with an outhouse in the garden. This was their home for 67 years on Fifth & Dunbar Street. The family would like to thank the Emergency Response Personnel for their kindness and competence. A Memorial Mass will be held at Holy Family Notre Dame Church, 4731 Burke Rd, Port Alberni on Friday, January 10, 2014 at 12:00PM. Interment of Andrew's cremated remains will take place at St Peter's Cemetery following a reception at the church hall. No Flowers by request.
