Jean Mayer died peacefully at home on March 16, 2014. She was 84 years old. She was predeceased by her husband Tom. Born in Chicago, she lived in Michigan until the age of 18. She then moved to Westport, CT where she met her husband and raised her three children. She spent many, many years raising money for her favorite charity, The . She loved to golf, travel, play cards, read, go to the beach and do the New York Times crossword puzzle. She moved permanently to Naples, Florida in 1995 and had an amazing group of friends in the Fox Fire Community. Her sense of humor was infectious as well as her positive outlook on life. She leaves behind a loving family Missy Ketley (Greg) of Stratford, CT, Stephanie Inglis (Mark) of South Port, CT, and Tom Mayer (Nancy) of Danbury, CT and their daughter Dena and grandson Daniel. She was a warm and caring grandmother to Jessica Nielsen (Jonathan), Jeffrey and Bryan Inglis. She loved her two beautiful great grandchildren Colin and Arabelle Nielsen. Arabelle was named after Jean's mother. She was blessed with a loving and caring brother Michael Thoma of Ross, CA and a niece and 2 nephews. She also leaves behind her devoted Caregiver, Anne Dupiton. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the , P.O.
