John Maglione

Maglione, John J.
John Joseph Maglione, loving husband of Elizabeth A. Luber, passed away peacefully in Danbury Hospital on October 13th, 2013. He was born to Joseph Maglione and Stella Havens on June 12th, 1925 in the Bronx, NY. John was a Army Air Force veteran of WWII. Upon completion of service he graduated from St John's University and was a New York City Fire Fighter for over thirty years. In addition he was head of safety security at the Metropolitan Opera House and a substitute teacher in the Bronx public school system. The family moved to Weston CT in February 1968 to his beautiful home, his pride and joy. He was the beloved father of Elizabeth Maglione of Weston, Diane (James) Fraser of Monroe, Joan (Robert) McCoy of Fairfield, Sue (Daniel) DiCairano of Shelton, John Maglione of Milford, Christopher (Noelle) Maglione of Westport, and James (Judith) Maglione of Weston. He also leaves fourteen cherished grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Joan Luber of Weston. A Mass of Christian burial was held Wednesday October 16th at 11:00a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church at 35 Norfield Rd., Weston, where John was a regular communicant as well as the head usher. He also volunteered at both Star House and Norwalk Hospital. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to St. Francis of Assisi Church or The Salvation Army.
