Lorenzo Santoro, age 66 of Stratford and longtime Norwalk resident, died peacefully at the Veteran's Hospital in West Haven on Saturday, March 8, with his family at his side. Lorenzo was born on September 5, 1947 in Cantanzaro, Calabria, Italy, the son of Carlotta Bertuccio Santoro of Stratford and the late Domenic F. Santoro. He worked as a hair dresser in Greenwich and Westport for several years and retired as a carpenter with Carpenter's Local 210. Lorenzo was a veteran of the U.S. Army
, having served during the Viet Nam War. He loved being with his family and enjoyed traveling to Europe.
In addition to his mother Lorenzo is survived by his siblings Angelo Santoro of Italy, Tina Granata of Norwalk, Teresa Mallozzi of Westport, Nicola Santoro of Shelton and Francesca Tuccinardi of Monroe. Also surviving are 10 loving nieces and nephews, 10 great nieces and nephews and many aunts, uncles and cousins in Italy. In addition to his father Lorenzo is predeceased by his brother, Dominick Santoro, Jr.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Thursday, March 13, at St. Joseph Church in Norwalk, with burial following at St. John Cemetery. The Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk, was in charge of arrangements. Donations in his name may be made to the
