Barbara Lawless Obituary
Longtime resident of Westport and Palm Beach, Barbara Lawless, 89, died Jan. 13th. An accomplished mural and portrait artist she was a beloved art instructor in CT and FL. A graduate of Greenwich Academy she earned a BA from William & Mary and received a MS from So. Ct. State University. Her murals and portrait commissions can be seen in many public buildings. Her final mural is installed in the lobby of the Weston Town Hall. She is also included in the film, "Years in the Making: A Journey into Late Life Creativity."Survivors include daughter, Barbara Coley, KY; son, John Lawless (wife Susan) CT; daughter Elizabeth O'Hara (husband Neal) MD, 7 grandchildren, a sister and brother-in-law Elinore & Walter Bagdon; 2 nieces, and 1 nephew.
A memorial is planned for late spring in Westport.
