Mildred Frances Baynham, 94, passed away in Burlington Vermont on April 29, 2014, after a long illness.
Mildred was born in Jersey City, New Jersey, on March 9, 1920. She was the daughter of Margaret Tatem and James Guilfoyle. Mildred graduated from St. Joseph's High School in 1938. She married William Patrick Baynham of Westport, Connecticut on April 7, 1951 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Laurence Harbor New Jersey.
During World War II Mildred worked at Federal Shipyards and Drydock Co. located in Kearney, New Jersey.
Following her marriage she moved to Westport Ct. Mildred was an avid artist and was very involved in volunteer activities at Assumption Church. She worked in the Westport Town Hall as a bookkeeper for 17 years. After retiring in 1982, she moved to Burlington, Vermont in 2002.
Her children William James Baynham, Margaret Baynham Lopat and Eileen Baynham Mann survived her. She will be missed by her grandchildren, Christopher Lopat, Jacob Mann and Caleb Mann.
Mildred was predeceased by her husband of 60 years William Patrick Baynham, her daughter-in-law, Joan Baynham and her siblings, Marjorie, Helen, Catherine, James and Genevieve.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 17th at St. John Vianney Church, South Burlington, VT at 11:00 a.m. There will be no visiting hours. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Westport, CT.
For those who wish, in lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Burlington Health and Rehabilitation, 300 Pearl St. Burlington Vermont, where Mildred had resided for the final years of her life.
