Mrs. Freda Elizabeth Knorr, 99, of the Good Samaritan Home, formerly of Fowler, died at 11:20 p.m. Monday (Nov. 12, 2012) in the Good Samaritan Home.
She was born Feb. 22, 1913, in Quincy, a daughter of August H. and Nettie Phoebe Daugherty Stockhecke. She married Roger J. Knorr on Oct. 15, 1938, in Palmyra, Mo. He died Feb. 26, 2002. Freda was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Fowler. She enjoyed playing cards and was an avid bowler, bowling in many leagues in Mendon. Freda will be remembered as a wonderful baker, winning a state competition in Chicago for her baking. Freda devoted her life to raising her family and helping on the family farm. Survivors include two sons, Ronald "Ron" Knorr (Sharon) of Fowler and James Knorr (Shirley) of Pleasant Plains; two grandchildren, David Knorr (Kim) of Palmyra, Mo., and Leanne Williams (Kent) of Fowler; nine great-grandchildren, Gabriella Knorr, Aden Knorr, Josh Bunn, Konnar Bunn, Kevin Dieterle, Tyler Dieterle, Kathryn Dieterle, Dan Williams and Kathryn Williams; four great-great grandchildren, Colin Dieterle, Ryli Koehn, MaryJean Sparks, Paysli Dieterle; and many loving nieces and nephews. Mrs. Knorr was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roger; a daughter, Jacqueline Knorr; two sisters, Esther Davison and Dorothy Lubbert; and three brothers, Carl Stockhecke, Earl Stockhecke and Raymond Stockhecke. SERVICES: 10 a.m. Saturday in Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home with Pastor Keela Newman conducting. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery. VISITATION: 4 to 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday morning until the time of services in the funeral home. MEMORIALS: St. Paul United Church of Christ or Good Samaritan Home Sunnydale Unit.
