Flora L. Peters, 90, of the Good Samaritan Home, died at 5:45 a.m. Tuesday (Jan. 15, 2013) in the home.
Born Oct. 17, 1922, in Quincy, Flora was a daughter of Earl Joseph and Lilly V. Gray Peters. Flora was employed in the offices of K-Mart for 40 years as a secretary until her retirement. Flora was a member of the Church of St. Peter. She enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles and especially enjoyed taking her nieces and nephews to the movies. She also was the primary caregiver for her parents for several years. Survivors include two brothers, Raymond Peters (Rosemary) of Quincy and Robert Peters (Martha) of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and several loving nieces and nephews. Ms. Peters was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, Earl J., Clarence A. and Jack A. Peters. SERVICES: A parish prayer service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. in the Church of St. Peter with the Rev. Leo Enlow conducting. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. VISITATION: Visitation will be held from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home. MEMORIALS: Memorials may be made to the Church of St. Peter. I never had the pleasure of meeting my Great-Great Aunt Flora! But I have heard many stories over the years of what a wonderful woman she was. May she rest in peace!

It was such a joy to have Aunt Flora join my family every Christmas Eve and Christmas when my kids were growing up and beyond!! We have so many wonderful memories which will never be forgotten!!
