Michael A. Schulten Sr., 66, of 1220 Klondike Road South, Quincy, died Saturday (May 4, 2013) in Blessing Hospital.
He was born on March 22, 1947, in Hannibal, Mo., a son of Richard L. and Helen J. Cobern Schulten. He married Paula "Jill" McNett on March 12, 1995, in Quincy. She survives. Michael was an union carpenter. Later in his career, he worked as an organizer for the Mid-Central Illinois Regional Council of Carpenters until his retirement. He loved to hunt for deer and turkey. He also enjoyed fishing and was an all around outdoorsman. In addition to his wife, Jill, he is also survived by one son, Michael A. Schulten Jr. of St. Louis; one grandchild, Shannon Bowen; one brother, Richard Schulten III and his wife, Vickie; two sisters, Gloria Reeves and her husband, Joe, and Christie Parker and her husband, Bob; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Brenda K. Schulten. SERVICES: 11 a.m. Wednesday memorial service will be held in the Duker and Haugh Funeral Hoe by the Rev. Jamie Dyke. VISITATION: 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday in the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home. ARRANGEMENTS: Duker and Haugh Funeral Home, Quincy.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
