PALMYRA, Mo. -- Connie Vaughn, 63, of Palmyra, formerly of LaGrange, died Aug. 30, 2015, at the Lewis County Nursing Home, Canton. The Davis Funeral Home, LaGrange, is handling arrangements.

PALMYRA, MO. -- Mrs. Connie Jean Vaughn, 63, of Palmyra, formerly of LaGrange, died at 8:50 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 30, 2015, at the Lewis County Nursing Home, Canton. She was born Oct. 22, 1951, in Aberdeen, S.D., a daughter of Charles M. and Edna Jean Neitzel Rhodes. She married Perry D. Vaughn on June 29, 1969, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in LaGrange. He died Jan. 12, 2009. Connie was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Palmyra. In earlier years, she and her husband helped with tee-ball in LaGrange, and Connie served as a Girl Scout leader. She and Perry enjoyed collecting coins and attending coin shows. She also collected music boxes and salt and pepper shakers. Survivors include her mother, Edna Rhodes; one brother, Jim (Carol) Rhodes; and one sister, Cheryl Colliver, all of Palmyra; two sisters-in-law, Evelyn Evans of LaGrange and Alice (Russell) Davidson of Paloma, Ill.; brother-in-law, Alvin (Mary) Vaughn of LaGrange; aunts, Dorothy Thurman, Rosemary Frey, Nina Rubemeyer and Susie Mortimer; nieces and nephews, Kim and Jeff Maple of Hannibal, Cassidee and Bradley Wigle of Palmyra, Chad Colliver of St. Louis, Seth Colliver of Jefferson City, Angela Burton of Quincy, Ill., Scott Evans of LaGrange, Brad (Jennifer) Davidson of Quincy, Jimmy (Martha) Vaughn of LaGrange, Michael Vaughn of Maywood, Gregory (Chris) Vaughn of Quincy, David (Gail) Vaughn of LaGrange, Jason (Ashleigh) Vaughn of LaGrange; and several great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father and husband. SERVICES: 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 4, at the Zion Lutheran Church, Palmyra with Pastor David Johnson conducting. Burial will be in Durham Cemetery, Durham, VISITATION: 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 3, at the Davis Funeral Home, LaGrange.
