KAHOKA, Mo. -- Mary Louise Jenkins, 93, of Kahoka, formerly of Keokuk, Iowa, and Wyaconda, died Dec. 22, 2014, in Keokuk Area Hospital. Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of her life will be this summer at the family farm near Wyaconda with inurnment in Liberty Cemetery, Williamstown. Visitation will be from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, in the Wilson Funeral Home, Kahoka.

Johnson, Gwendolyn Darlene - Clayton  
Gwendolyn Darlene Johnson, 79, of Clayton, went to celebrate with the Lord at 8:45 Christmas morning, Thursday (Dec. 25, 2014). She was currently a resident of Timber Point Healthcare Center in Camp Point. She was born July 2, 1935, in Clayton, a daughter of Fred and Esther Ackelson. She married Kenneth L. Johnson on April 10, 1952. Through that union of marriage, she was blessed with two sons, Gregory Lyle Johnson and Gary Lynn Johnson. Darlene worked various places caring for others. In her early years, she was a dental hygienist for Dr. Nielsen and Dr. Reed. She then entered the field of nursing and retired in 2000 from the Illinois Veterans Home. Darlene's greatest possession was her family. She didn't know a stranger and always put others before herself. She greatly enjoyed flying south during the winter months to her getaway in Florida. She was a member of the First Federated Church of Clayton and Clayton American Legion Auxiliary. Survivors include two sons, Greg Johnson (Patti) of Clayton and Gary Johnson (Vickie) of Pana; nine grandchildren, Chris Johnson of Clayton, Katrina Nixon (Kale) of Kahoka, Mo., Michael Johnson, Kyle Johnson and Alexis Johnson, all of Clayton, Blake Fleenor of Quincy, Paige Johnson of Clayton, and Apryle and Keenan Johnson of Pana; four great-grandchildren, Koy, Kayne, Kennyck and Kyper Nixon of Kahoka; a sister, Lavioe Hall (Charles) of Quincy; and a dear friend, Dennis Lamanski of Bradenton, Fla. Darlene was preceded in death by her parents. SERVICES: A celebration of life will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 28, in the First Federated Church of Clayton. Burial will be in South Side Cemetery, Clayton. VISITATION: 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday in the church.
