Osborne, Phyllis Elaine - Golden  
Phyllis Elaine Osborne, 89, of Golden, passed away at 12:45 a.m. Tuesday (Dec. 23, 2014) in Golden Good Shepherd Home. She was born March 5, 1925, in Golden, a daughter of the late Samuel and Jennie (Aden) Worman. She married Harold Eugene "Gene" Osborne on July 2, 1950, in Golden. He passed away March 2, 2006. Gene and Phyllis owned and operated Osborne Food Center in Golden for 30 years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Golden and the American Legion Auxiliary. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and she was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. Phyllis is survived by one daughter, Ladona (Dan) Wilson, of Golden; two grandchildren, Keith (Krista) Wilson of Golden and Jennie (Neil) VanDeVelde of Golden; five great-grandchildren, Kylie and Kwinn Wilson and Alea, Wyatt and Emma VanDeVelde, all of Golden. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Imogene Smith and Donna Ideus, and one brother, Ronald Worman. SERVICES: 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 26, 2014, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Golden with the Rev. Brad Eidson conducting. She will be laid to rest in Golden Memorial Gardens in Golden. VISITATION: From 10 a.m. until time of services Friday at the church. Otten, Leslie Eugene "Gene"  
QUINCY -- Leslie Eugene "Gene" Otten, 94, of 639 York, formerly of 2428 Lind, died Dec. 22, 2014, in Good Samaritan Home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 29, at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home. Burial will be in Bluff Hall Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 28, at the funeral home.

Otten, Leslie Eugene "Gene" - Quincy  
Leslie Eugene "Gene" Otten, 94, of 639 York, formerly of 2428 Lind, died at 7:50 a.m. Monday (Dec. 22, 2014) in Good Samaritan Home. He was born Aug. 12, 1922 in Quincy, the son of Samuel E. and Luella C. Rowsey Otten. On Jan. 19, 1946, he married Rosie E. Echternkamp in Bluff Hall Church, Fall Creek. She died Aug. 4, 2007. Gene served in the United States Army's 1st Division, 16th Infantry during World War II. He served in six different campaigns between Nov. 24, 1942 and Nov. 1, 1945. Gene was wounded in action and was awarded the Purple Heart and five Battle Stars. His military service took him to England, France, Belgium, Germany and Czechoslovakia. Gene was employed by Gardner Denver as a core maker and molder for 27 years and as a safety guard at Moorman Manufacturing for 10 years. He attended Living Water Fellowship, and was a member of Disabled American Veterans. He enjoyed traveling and eating out. Survivors include his son, Michael E. (Cheryl) Otten of Quincy; four grandchildren, Michael D. (Rosa) Otten of Henderson, Nev., Denise Napier of Elizabethton, Tenn., James R. Otten of Henderson, and Brianna N. Otten of Quincy; 11 great-grandchildren, Kallie, Kobie, Kasen, Kenna, Travis, Trevor and Sandy Otten, all of Henderson, and Katherine, Ronald, Danica and Caleb Napier, all of Elizabethton; two brothers, Norris Otten of Quincy and Bucky (Martha) Wright of Kansas City, Mo.; a sister-in-law, Betty Forbes of Ashland City, Tenn.; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Norma Peters of Quincy. In addition to his wife, Gene was also preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Kingsley Forbes, and a sister, Henrietta Wright. Services: 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 29, at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, with the Rev. Timothy A. White officiating. Burial will be in Bluff Hall Cemetery. VISITATION: 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 28, at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home. MEMORIALS: Illinois Veterans Home Activities Fund or Quincy Fire Department Explorer Post No. 104.
