Adelene Ann Stoller, 87, of Burlington, Iowa, died at 3:10 a.m. Monday (April 8, 2013) in the Blair House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Burlington.
Born July 30, 1925, in Quincy, she was a daughter of Dwight and Dorothy Koch Harvey. On June 6, 1946, she married Paul William Stoller in Quincy. He died Dec. 1, 1995.
She attended St. Francis Catholic Grade School and graduated from Quincy High School.
Adelene had worked for Quincy Compressor Co. prior to her marriage. She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Sts. John and Paul Catholic Church. She enjoyed animals, especially horses and cats, and spending time outdoors. She was very proud of her family and her home and cherished times spent with them.
Survivors include one son, Gregory Paul (Gail) Stoller of Columbus Junction, Iowa; two daughters, Stephanie Ann (Jerry) Staff and Monica Marie Siefken, both of Burlington; four grandchildren, Barbara (Keelan) Parham, Eric Stoller, Shaun Stoller and Erin (Jason) Vorwerk; two great-grandchildren, Brady Parham and Kaley Parham; one brother, Richard "Dick" (Norma) Harvey of Quincy; one sister, Janice (Alfred) Maple of Liberty; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son; and one son-in-law, John Siefken.
SERVICES:10 a.m. Saturday funeral Mass in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, with the Rev. Bruce A. DeRammelaere conducting. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Music will be provided by the Des Moines County Resurrection Choir. A time of food and fellowship will be held in St. John's cafeteria following the burial.
VISITATION: 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday in the Thielen Funeral Home, Burlington, Iowa, with family present after a 6 p.m. rosary service.
MEMORIALS: A memorial has been established for the Des Moines County Humane Society.
