Alice J. Hild

Alice J. Hild, 85, of 917 S. 12th, Quincy, died at 10:40 a.m. Monday (Sept. 30, 2013) in Blessing Hospital.

Alice was born Feb. 8, 1928, in Stillwell, the daughter of Ralph and Claire McClean Cray. On July 6, 1946 she married Richard Hild Sr. in Leonardstown, Md. He died on Sept. 23, 2003.

She was employed at Motorola for 15 years.

Alice was a member of Trinity United Church Of Christ. In past years she volunteered at Blessing Hospital in the Tea Room. She also stitched countless "boo boo bears" which Blessing Hospital gave to children treated at the hospital. She was an avid Blue Devil fan. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, as well as crafting and sewing. She lovingly stitched wedding dresses for three of her nieces.

Alice always looked forward to the semi-annual family reunion which brought together close to 100 relatives. The latest was held just six weeks before her death.

Survivors include a son, Richard (Susan) Hild Jr. and two daughters, Terri Hild and Geri Lynn (Randy) Miller, all of Quincy; four grandchildren, Richard (Juanita) Hild III of Ranger, W.Va., Robin (Chad) Downs of Quincy, Chad Miller of Los Angeles and Courtney Miller of Quincy; five great-grandchildren, Amanda (Bobby) Estes, Heather Hild, Dakota and Brooke Downs and Ayden Heagy; two great-great-grandchildren, Tryston and Mariah Estes; two brothers, Howard Dean (Marcia) Cray of Quincy and David (Connie) Cray of Rock Island; 24 nieces and nephews; 51 great-nieces and great-nephews; and 16 great-great nieces and great-great-nephews.

In addition to her husband, Alice was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Leroy and Harold Cray; five sisters, Hazel Cray, Ruth Pipes, Geneva Stewart, Dorothy Musolino and Margaret Mast.

SERVICES: 10 a.m. Saturday at Trinity United Church of Christ, with the Rev. Timothy White officiating. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery, Quincy.

VISITATION: 4 to 7 p.m. Friday in the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home
