Andre "Joe" Anderson, 78, of Quincy, died at 2:35 p.m. Thursday (July 11, 2013) in his home.
Born April 26, 1935, in Upshire County, W.V., Joe was a son of Marvin B. and Ruby Malcomb Anderson. He first married Juanita J. Parn on Feb. 7, 1952, in Quincy. She died April 14, 2005. He then married Janet Wollbrink on Aug. 5, 2006, in Quincy. She survives.
Joe graduated from Roosevelt Wilson High School in Clarksburg, W.V. He owned and operated Anderson's Mobile Service Station in Quincy for over 25 years and then became employed as a sales representative and driver for Prairie Farms Dairy for 23 years until his retirement in 2000.
He was an active member of Madison Park Christian Church and enjoyed woodworking. He also was an active supporter and served on the board of the Lamoine Christian Camp.
In addition to his wife, Janet, survivors include three sons, Terry J. Anderson (Arlene) and Tim N. Anderson (Terry), both of Quincy and James C. Voth (Danielle) of LaGrange, Mo.; one daughter, Ellie M. Voth, of Jacksonville; a daughter in-law, Julie Anderson, of Quincy; 11 grandchildren, Christy Tucker of Pelham, Ala., Cody Anderson of Quincy, Shelby Anderson of St. Louis, Mitchell Anderson and Logan Anderson of Des Moines, Iowa, Gabe Briscoe (Quinn Baker) of Quincy, Erica Briscoe of St. Louis, Lauren Anderson of Columbia, Mo., Cole Anderson of Quincy and Brandon Benjamin and Tyson Voth of LaGrange; and three great-grandchildren, Donovan Briscoe, Evan Briscoe and Tyler Tucker.
Also surviving are five brothers, Robert Anderson (Becky) of Roy, Wash., Gene Anderson (Jeanne) of Shrewsbury, Mo., Austin "Bud" Anderson of Maplewood, Mo., Gary Anderson (Cathy) of Roy, Wash., and Eddie Anderson (Frances) of Wellsburg, W.V.; and two sisters, Cora Sue Beer of Virginia Beach, Va., and Saundra Carlson of Palm Coast, Fla.
Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Stan Anderson.
SERVICES: 10:30 a.m. Monday in Madison Park Christian Church with Pastor Chuck Sackett conducting. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
VISITATION: 9 a.m. until time of services Monday in the church.
