HANNIBAL, Mo. -- Andy "Ikie" Babyak Jr., 74, of Hannibal, died at 9:20 a.m. Wednesday (Oct. 10, 2012) in Hannibal Regional Hospital.
Mr. Babyak was born Jan. 28, 1938, in Ilasco, a son of Andrew and Ruth V. Barnes Babyak.
He married to Jeana Sue Herl on Aug. 5, 1961, in New London. She died Oct. 29, 2011.
Mr. Babyak was a United States Army veteran
. He retired after 43 years as a process engineer from Continental Cement Co. Mr. Babyak enjoyed farming, being on his John Deere tractor and bailing hay. He liked socializing with family and friends.
He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and a past member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Ilasco.
Survivors include two children, Brent Babyak (Patti) of Quincy, Ill., and Andrea Farr (Brad) of Hannibal; one sister, Melinda Wright (Greg) of Hannibal; one sister-in-law, Vicki Howes (Charlie) of Manchester; two grandchildren, Meagan Babyak and Drew Babyak; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is also preceded in death by his parents; and two infant siblings, Donald Eugene and Priscella Mae Babyak.
SERVICES: 10 a.m. Saturday in Holy Family Church, Hannibal, with the Rev. Mike Quinn conducting. Burial with full military honors by Emmette J. Shields American Legion Post No. 55 will be in Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal.
Pallbearers will be Bill Northcutt, Carl Zupan, Tom Lennon, Ken Tibbits, Mark Northcutt and Drew Babyak. Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Hamilton, and Kenny Meyer. Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Hamilton and Kenny Meyer.
VISITATION: 5 to 8 p.m. Friday in the James O'Donnell Funeral Home, Hannnibal.
