Anna F. Rowe

HANNIBAL, Mo. -- Anna F. Rowe, 88, of Hannibal, died at 7:15 p.m. Sunday (June 9, 2013) in Beth Haven Nursing Home, Hannibal.

Anna was born June 15, 1924, in Brashear, a daughter of John William and Margaret Ruth Ratliff Gardner. She married Lawrence Rowe on Dec. 26, 1944, in Brashear. He survives.

She received her bachelor's degree as well as her master's degree in elementary education from North East Missouri Teacher's College.

Anna was employed as a teacher in Brashear, Keokuk, Iowa, and Highland-Riverside in Quincy, Ill. She retired in 1982.

Anna was a member of Arch United Methodist Church in Hannibal, and a former member of Vermont Street United Methodist Church in Quincy. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association, North East Missouri State University Alumni Association, and Blessing Hospital Women's Board. She was a former member of Delta Kappa Gamma and RSVP. She was a volunteer at the Blessing Hospital Tea Room and John Wood Community College.

Survivors include her husband, Lawrence Rowe of Hannibal; her daughters, Janet (Duane) Brammer of Hannibal, and Jane (Ron) Blickhan of Springfield, Ill.; four grandchildren, Brian Brammer of Parrish, Fla., Julie (Steve) Nash of Springfield, Ill., and John and Jacob Blickhan, both of Springfield, Ill.; four great-granddaughters, Ashley and Brittany Brammer and Shannon and Melissa Nash; a brother, Paul (Louise) Gardner of Jefferson City, nieces and nephews.

Anna was preceded in death by her parents; her granddaughter, Meg Brammer; three brothers, John, Carl and Merle Gardner, and a sister, Juanita Rehm.

SERVICES: 11 a.m. Saturday at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home in Quincy with the Rev. David Scott conducting. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery in Quincy.

VISITATION: 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday in Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, Quincy
