Beverly Cane

Beverly Cane, 74, of 1435 Spruce, died Friday (Oct. 18, 2013) in the Good Samaritan Home.

She was born Dec. 26, 1938, in Kansas City, Mo., a daughter of Ted and Nina Evans Platt. She married Donald E. Cane on Feb. 3, 1961, in St. Louis. He survives.

Beverly was a member and past president of the Women Business Association. She was the co-owner and bookkeeper of Cane's Automotive.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by five children, Lynette Thomas and her husband, Ed, Dawna Neal and her fiance, Doug Greving, Mike Cane and his wife, Pam, Sandra Cane and Tom Cane and his wife, Becca; three brothers, Ronald Platt and his wife, Bev, Doug Platt and Herbie Platt; three sisters, Billie Mae Uppinghouse, Shirley Nixon and her husband, Butch, and Corrine Denton; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Arnold "Stub" Platt and Wilbur Platt.

SERVICES: 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home. Interment will be in Stewart Cemetery, Plainville.

VISITATION: 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
