Bruce A. Curless

Bruce A. Curless, 86, of Quincy, passed away Friday (Feb. 21, 2014) in Blessing Hospital.

He was born Feb. 1, 1928, in Quincy, a son of Chester A. and Beauna (Sigafoose) Curless. He married Dorothy Stenson on April 4, 1956. She survives in Quincy.

Bruce was a member of United Methodist Church of Loraine. He was a meat cutter for Johannes Meat Market in Hannibal, Mo., then for County Market in Quincy, retiring after 20 years with the company. He enjoyed woodworking.

In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, Craig Curless of Quincy; a daughter, Vallie (Larry) Wellman of Barry; four grandchildren, Aaron, Brandon, Benjamin and Andrew Wellman; and two sisters, Barbara Hagstrum of Indianapolis and Marilyn Williams of Plainfield.

SERVICES: 10 a.m. Thursday in the Hunter Funeral Home in Mendon, with the Rev. Connie Jenkins conducting. Interment will be in Curless Cemetery near Loraine.

VISITATION: 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
