Bruce C. Thompson, 66, of Pensacola, Fla., formerly of Quincy, died on Nov. 9, 2013.
Bruce was born on March 14, 1947, to the late Charles and Jeanne Thompson in Payson.
Bruce was raised in Quincy, where he attended Quincy Senior High School. He also attended Southern Illinois University-Carbondale. He served his country honorably in Vietnam.
He retired from West Florida Regional Planning Council as a housing inspector. He later worked part time as a merchandiser for Driveline.
Bruce was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and a volunteer at the St. Vincent de Paul Alfred Washburn Center. He was a member of the FSA Hunting Club.
He is survived by his wife, Fredericka (Freddie) Willis Thompson of 43 years; son, Jason Thompson; daughter, Dianna (Preston) Pallas; son, Brian Thompson; daughter, Betty Jeanne (Dallas) Stearns; seven grandchildren; brother, David (Sue) Thompson of Cape Coral, Fla.; sister, Lucinda (Larry) Otte of La Veta, Colo.; and stepsister, Christine Hall-Strube of Ferguson, Mo.
SERVICES: A memorial Mass was held Nov. 15. A private service will be held at Barrancas National Cemetery at a later date. Pallbearers will be Kerry Morgan, Ron Jansen, Michael McAllister, Randy Tronu, Buddy Merritt and Jimbo Jolly.
