HAMILTON, Ill. -- Bryan Neal Bell, 61, of Hamilton died at 6:48 p.m. Monday (Dec. 10, 2012) in his home in Hamilton, surrounded by his family.
He was born on June 13, 1951, in Carthage, a son of Neal Wayne and Ora Delle Waltman Bell. He married Kerry Lu McVeigh on Dec. 2, 1972, at Golden's Point Christian Church, rural Hamilton. She survives in Hamilton.
Bryan graduated from Keokuk (Iowa) High School and Culver-Stockton College, Canton, Mo. He joined the U.S. Army
, serving during the Vietnam War
, 1970-72. Upon his discharge, he enlisted in the Iowa Army National Guard, serving for more than 15 years.
He was employed by Griffin Wheel in Keokuk, Iowa, for many years as a materials coordinator. He was a member of First Christian Church in Keokuk.
He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and camping. He was an avid Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs fan, attending a Cubs game with his family in September. He also enjoyed model trains and cars.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four sons, Thomas Neal (Elizabeth) Bell of Hamilton, Mike (Leslie Lindley) Bell of Clinton, Robb (Jessica) Bell of Hamilton and Tim (Brittni Cruz) Bell of Kenosha, Wis.; two brothers, Roy (Annie) Bell of Keokuk, and Butch (Lori) Bell of Keokuk; a sister-in-law, Korenda Bell of Keokuk; and 13 grandchildren, Bryant, Ryan, Heather, Brendan and Konnor, Keganne, Alexandrea, Jacilyn, Elianna, Bryleigh, Cullin, Madisyn and Olivia. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a half brother, Richard Smith; a brother, Charles Bell; and a sister, Addie Bell.
SERVICES: 2 p.m. Saturday in the Lamporte-St. Clair Funeral Home in Hamilton, with the Rev. David Turner conducting. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Hamilton.
VISITATION: 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, with family present 5 to 8 p.m., in the funeral home.
MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established in memory of Bryan Bell.
