Cristy Collene Puff, 33, of Gillespie, died unexpectedly Thursday (May 15, 2014) in her home and now will be fully protected and safe in the arms of our victorious Lord.
She was born Sept. 29, 1980, in Quincy, a daughter of Edmund Puff and Kringle (Brown) Lindsey. Cristy graduated from Barry High School in 1999. Throughout high school, she was active in softball, volleyball and FFA. She attended John Wood Community College. She was active with many community events, especially the Barry Apple Festivals. She liked gardening, music, camping, and interior design. She enjoyed sports, with her favorite activity playing football with neighbors and friends who lovingly referred to her as "Te-Te." Cristy was an avid animal lover, especially her pets, Macy, Baby, Phoenix and Sissy. Cristy attended First Baptist Church of Gillespie and found comfort sharing her life and God's word with Pastor Jarod DePoppe. She deeply appreciated and cherished her family. Her smile and laughter were contagious, and she loved those moments laughing with family and friends. Survivors include her mother, Kringle Lindsey; her "dad,"Steve Lindsey; a sister, Candy Puff, of Quincy; grandparents, June "Gee Gee" Bigger of Quincy and Darrell and Barb Lindsey of Pittsfield; and her best friend, Angie Waugh, of Gillespie. Cristy is also survived by other family members including her father; aunts and uncles, Fran Cookson (Tom), Criss Brown (Terri), Mike Bigger (Debbie), Tim Lindsey (Carol), Doug Lindsey, Matt Lindsey (Shelly), Floyd Lindsey, Joy Lindsey and Melissa Lindsey; cousins, Dustin Bigger, Katlin Bigger, Ryan Miller (Amanda), Dusty Cookson (Monica), Luke Cookson, Quintin Cookson, Austin Cookson, Dawson Cookson, Chloe Cookson, Clara Cookson, Conleigh Cookson, Reece Cookson and Scott Brown; a nephew, Tristan Miller; a niece, Shelby Bowen; and many other loving family members and exceptional friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Rubin Bigger and Warren Brown; an aunt, Paulette Rumble; and a cousin, Rod Miller. SERVICES: 6 p.m. Monday, May 19, in the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home. Graveside services will be conducted at a later date. VISITATION: 4 p.m. until time of services Monday in the funeral home. MEMORIALS: Thomas and Frances Cookson Children's Education.
