EWING, Mo. -- Darold Edward McDonald, 71, of Ewing, died at 7:57 a.m. on Friday (Dec. 13, 2013) in Blessing Hospital.
He was born on June 21, 1942, in Kirksville, a son of Theodore and Evelyn Creson McDonald. He married Mary F. Shanks on April 24, 1960, in Durham Baptist Church. She survives.
Darold was raised in Green City. He was a hard worker and had been employed at Moorman Manufacturing, Local 919, and Titan Wheel, all in Quincy, Ill. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards with friends and loved to tell stories and spend time with family friends.
Survivors include his wife, Mary, of Ewing; three children, Cindy K. McDowell and her husband, Donnie, of Taylor, Ted E. McDonald and his wife, Lisa, of LaGrange, and Tammy J. Sparks and her husband, Jesse of LaGrange; grandchildren, Bradley and Jill Renier, Candi Renier and her fiance, Cory Campbell, Holly and Jimmy Mathes, Danielle and Marissa McDonald, Dakota, Dalton, Trevor, Jessica, Jesse II Sparks; great-grandchildren, Bradley and Brodey Renier, Calyn, Dayne, and Bayleah Mathes and Dylanie Sparks; his twin brother, Harold McDonald, of Quincy; sister, Rosemary Schultz and her husband, Fred, of Rock Island, Ill.; sister, Dixie Anthony, of LaBelle; brother, Arthur Holt, of Quincy; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Evelyn McDonald Holt.
SERVICES: 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Ball-Davis Funeral Home, Ewing, by the Rev. Brian Stone. Burial will be in Durham Cemetery.
VISITATION: 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, with family present after 6 p.m. in the funeral home.
